Task 1

Please print off your software justifications and hand them in.

Task 2 – Design Justification

The difference between Desired Outcomes and Performance Criteria

Your design justification is all about explaining the choices you have made in your design.  A really important word to use in your design justification is BECAUSE.  You are not just explaining WHAT you are planning to do by WHY you are planning to do it that way.  Where possible your choices should be related to your user needs.  “I’ve decided to do it this way because it will really help the headings to stand out…” etc.

  • Play the why game - make sure your DOs and PCs are close by

Don’t just tell me what you are going to do, tell me WHY you are going to do it like that.  I should see lots of  “I have decided to…. because…. “  Remember to focus on the desired outcomes – those things which you have some choice over.  Essentially you are explaining why the choices you have made will produce a better system for the user.

Make sure you have your plans in front of you when you work on your design justification

Homework

Please use your ICT homework time this week to complete your Design Justification for task 2.  It is due in next Tuesday 24th November.
