TASK 1 – Collecting printed information
(Rhiannon, Sophie, Emma, Felicity, Grace, Georgie H, Alex, Abi, Georgie K, India, Bridget and Lydia).
Visit your chosen venue and collect some printed information about the venue and its presentations. This could be in the form of a brochure, a leaflet, a newsletter or a flyer. The more information the better.
TASK 2 Creating the DRAFT version of your POSTER.
(Lydia).
Open Publisher or if you prefer it PagePlus. You need a ONE page A4 portrait or landscape document. Add your name to the footer. Save this document as DRAFT POSTER into your Activity 2 Poster folder. This should be in your Key Skills Level 2 Folder.
The following elements need to appear on your DRAFT POSTER.
- Undeveloped image – the original found on the internet.
- Undeveloped text – the original found on the internet.
- Name of VENUE.
- Location (address) of venue.
- Contact details (Tel No. Fax No. URL of website, email) of venue.
- Name of EVENT or PERFORMANCE.
- Date(s) of event of performance.
- Prices of tickets / seat, etc.
Please use the above list as a CHECKLIST!!!
TASK 3 Purposeful Use of Email.
(Sophie, Kitty, Grace, Alex, Georgie K, Bridget and Lydia)
Open Word. Type in the title “Purposeful Use of Email“. Add your name to the header. Save this document into your Activity 2 POSTER folder.
Create an email. Subject = ”My Draft Poster“. Attach your draft version of your poster. Send to = Ask at least one, but preferably two, members of your class to suggest improvements for your poster. BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR EMAIL, take a screenshot of its content.
Paste this “SENT” email into your word document. DO NOT REDUCE ITS SIZE because I need to read all of the elements! Below the screenshot, comment on the purpose and content of the email.
When you receive an email from a classmate please make at least one sensible suggestion to improve their work and try to reply promptly. e.g. Use photoshot to enhance your venue logo. OR Try to reword your blurb about your event to make it sound move interesting.
When you receive your reply(ies), take a screenshot and paste it into your word document. Again comment on the content of the reply(ies). You on can comment on wether or not you plan to use the suggestion!
TASK 4 Creating the FINAL version of your POSTER.

TASK 5 Page Numbering and Contents Page
Check that your portfolio is complete and that page numbers have been added to the bottom right hand corner of each page.
Open word. Create a contents page like the one below…

Task 6 Folder structure
Open Word and create a document entitled Folder Structure. You will need to show a number of screenshots from your network area.
- Screenshot 1 – Your area showing a Key Skills folder.
- Screenshot 2 - Your Key Skills folder showing an Activity 1 (Outfir Leaflet) folder and Activity 2 (Poster) folder.
- Screenshot 3 – Your Activity 1 folder showing the relevent files for activity 1.
- Screenshot 4 – Your Activity 2 folder showing the relevent files for activity 2.
FINALLY…
You need to sign and date your cover sheet. BLACK INK PLEASE!!!
