Open three different internet explorer windows for three of your favourite websites. How easy is it to get back to these pages again? How can you make it easy to get back to these pages? Where can you access these pages easily?
Create a del.icio.us account. Follow the link to del.icio.us and register using your school login id, password (if it meets the requirements) and email (you don’t have to enter your email but it makes it possible to retrieve your login details if you forget them). Don’t enter your first name or surname – it’s always good to stay as anonymous as possible.
Don’t install any buttons so ignore the next page and simply click on post at the top of the page.
Post your three favourite sites to del.icio.us. As you post, tag your sites with keywords which will make it easier for other people to find them. If somebody else has bookmarked that site you can simply use popular tags for the site by clicking on them.
Hopefully you are doing this with at least one other person in the class. If so, add a forward slash (/) and their login id to the end of del.icio.us. This means that you can see their bookmarks.
If you want to regularly see what they are adding to their lists – add them to your network.
If bookmark a site that you think a friend would be interested in, you can send them the link by using the for: username tag.
Do you think it is best to have individual accounts, a overall shr pupils account or both?
