KSL3 – Development of picture
- Once you have chosen the images you are going to use in your leaflet you need to develop them in some way. This could involve;
- cropping the image
- flipping the image
- adding a border to the image
- making the image a watercolour
- grouping images together
- combining images with shapes (e.g. an arrow) or with text (add a caption)
- or any combination of the above developments
- Paste or insert the original image into a blank page, when you have developed the image, you can paste it next to the original. This will mean that you have the original image and the one you have developed on the same page. Screenshot this process and explain what you have done and why. The developed image should be the one you use in your leaflet. Be consistent in your developments. If you put a border around your image make sure you use the same border on all your images.
- You are going to use Adobe Photoshop Elements to develop your pictures. Below are three screencasts which show you how to develop pictures in PSE. The first one is fairly simple, they get a bit harder as they go on – concentrate on the technique, not the context. These are just examples, you can develop your pictures in different ways if you wish.

Ensure that you have documented this process for at least two of your pictures. You do not have to do this for all your pictures.
ANOTHER OPTION
You could use Serif DrawPlus X4 - when you have opened the picture you want to alter, right click and choose filter effects.
