KSL3 – Development of text and Leaflet First Draft
Once you have collected your source material for you leaflet, you then have to refine and develop this source material for use in your leaflet.
- To do this, simply go through your information and do the following;
- Highlight and annotate sections of the text you are going to use – again explain why you are going to use certain sections
- Make changes to certain words or phrases
- Add in your own words or paragraphs to link information from different sources together
- Make sure you use a combination of ict, non-ict and your own information
- Once you have selected the information you want to include in your leaflet, create a basic version of your leaflet which includes the pictures and the basic text. Do not; create headings, include bullet points, paragraphs, format text – make sure it is basic.
You can use MS Publisher or Serif PagePlus to create your leaflet. Below is a screencast which will help you get started with PagePlus. This shows you how to create a simple folded leaflet – other more sophisticated options include Side Tri-fold and Side Z-fold (scroll down under “other”).
There are also some really good video tutorials available – when you start up PagePlus or choose a new file, under learn on the right hand side are a list of all the available videos. Combining Text and Pictures is a good one to have a look at.
- At this point it would be a good idea to email this version to somebody and ask for their feedback.
hi, this is really fun!
