GCSE
Over the next two years you will be working towards an ICT GCSE.
Specifically the GCSE is the AQA ICT Specification “A” Full Course. You can see a copy of the syllabus here.
The GCSE is divided up into three distinct sections.
- Board Set Assignment (BSA) Coursework. This is a set of ICT related tasks based around a scenario – this year the scenario is the Lancre Theme Park. This section of coursework is worth 30% of the overall GCSE.
- Project Coursework. This is a more in depth project of your choosing, usually completed using one piece of software. This section of coursework is worth 30% of the overall GCSE.
- 1hr 30min Examination. This makes up the remaining 40% of the overall GCSE.
During year 10 we will be concentrating on the BSA, trying to ensure that this is complete by the end of the year. We will also cover various theory topics throughout the year.
